Fashion Guru to NICU

Hey there everyone! My name is Rachel Soukup and I was born and raised in Reno, NV. Over the past 11 years while working for The Buckle my life has been deeply seeded in Fashion. Outfitting guests for day to day life to their most special occasion and everything in between has been my passion. Alongside that building a clientele and forming relationships has always captivated me.

My ability to do this, especially in the Management capacity all changed in the fall of 2019 when my husband and I found out we were expecting identical twin boys. What would be a very exciting time for most turned into a high risk situation in a hurry. At 18 weeks pregnant I was referred to the Children's Hospital of CO. My mom and I packed our bags and left on a one way flight for what we thought would be a week or two. A week or two that turned into a 6 month adventure leaving our lives as we knew it back home during the largest pandemic in decades. Our journey from hotel to hospital stay where masks and hand sanitizer became a necessity was one for the books. Luckily one where we achieved the ultimate goal of obtaining two babies as the outcome. But not without the knowledge, experience, love and compassion of the experts who became our fan club and dearest friends.

192 days that changed our lives forever in what turned out to be the third longest place we both had ever lived. An experience that made us truly appreciate the value of life while simultaneously making me question what to do in this next chapter of mine as a twin mom. This chapter forced me to quit my job, raise babies, and ultimately take the leap which I may have not had the courage to do otherwise. This period was the epitome of stress and sacrifice that catapulted a life change through the chronicles of the NICU.

This site is blossoming into my very own project filled with unique and engaging content. Join me as I finally have the opportunity to explore my love for home decor and fulfill my desire to connect with others and express my creativity through event planning. In the meantime keeping my passion for fashion alive through through myself and now two identical twins to add to the mix in a world where baby boys fashion is so mundane. All the while including you on my non-traditional pregnancy and baby raising journey which fueled it all.
